What should my baby wear to sleep?
Your simple guide to swaddle bags, sleeping bags, sleepsuits & TOGs. We’ve made it simple to find the right sleepwear for every stage.
Swaddle bag
For those first newborn nights
Soft, snug and reassuring, a swaddle bag helps recreate that cosy, secure feeling of the womb and settle your baby’s natural startle reflex, encouraging more settled sleep from day one.
Best for: Newborns from day one until the first signs of rolling.
Time to move on? As soon as your baby shows signs of trying to roll, it’s time to transition from their swaddle bag to a sleeping bag.
Sizing: SnuzSwaddle bags are sized by weight - Newborn (2.7-5.4kg) and Baby (3.9-8.5kg) - not age, to keep the fit safe around the neck and shoulders.

Sleeping bags
For sleep beyond the swaddle bag
A cosy wearable blanket that keeps your baby comfortably covered, with plenty of freedom to move their arms, without the need for loose blankets.
Best for: Babies from birth through to toddlerhood, depending on weight and size.
Perfect for: Moving on from a swaddle bag and creating a familiar bedtime routine as they grow.
Sizing: SnuzPouch sleeping bags are sized by age - 0-6m, 6-18m and 18-36m. Check the label for the matching weight range before buying.

Sleepsuits
For little ones on the move
Perfect for little ones transitioning from sleep to play, the sleepsuit offers all the comfort and reassurance of a sleeping bag with added freedom to move.
Built-in grip socks can help avoid little slips, while the togged design keeps them cosy throughout the night.
Best for: Little ones from 1-3 years.
Sizing: SnuzSuit sleepsuits are sized by age and height - 1-2Y (80-95cm) and 2-3Y (90-105cm).
Which TOG does my baby need?
Think of TOG as a simple measure of warmth: the higher the TOG, the warmer the sleepwear.
The right TOG depends on the temperature of the room your baby sleeps in, rather than the season outside.

Not sure if they’re too warm? Feel their chest or the back of the neck rather than their hands or feet, which naturally feel cooler.
Frequently asked questions
Sleepwear is sized differently depending on the product. SnüzSwaddle is sized by weight. SnüzPouch is sized by age (0-6m, 6-18m, 18-36m). SnüzSuit is sized by age and height (1-2Y and 2-3Y). Always buy for your baby's current measurements, not the size they'll grow into.
The right TOG depends on the temperature of your baby's room. For rooms at 16-20°C, use 2.5 TOG. For warmer rooms of 20-24°C, use 1.0 TOG. Always feel your baby's chest or back of neck to check if they're too warm.
Yes, from birth - as long as your baby meets the minimum weight on the label. Check the size guide for each product to make sure the bag fits snugly around the neck and shoulders.
No. A correctly TOG sleeping bag is all the bedding your baby needs. Adding a blanket on top risks overheating. If your baby feels cool, add a clothing layer underneath or move up a TOG value.
Stop swaddling as soon as your baby shows any signs of trying to roll - usually around 8-12 weeks, but every baby is different. Once they can roll, move to a sleeping bag so they can reposition themselves freely.
