5 Ideas to Match Baby’s Crib to Your Bedroom Interior
Your baby will be moving into your space for the first 6 months of their life.
While you don't have to change your whole interior for their homecoming, you do want to consider how your new baby furniture will pair with your room.
That's why our friends at Lick (designer paint and decorating gurus) have put together these five mood boards, showing you some stunning interior design ideas paired with your choice of the iconic SnüzPod5.
Or, they might also help you decide which SnüzPod5 to purchase based on how well it will match your current room.
Either way, below are some super aesthetic, gender-neutral ideas on how you can keep your space looking stylish, even with a baby on the way.
Sage
The SnüzPod5 in Sage is the perfect choice for parents looking for something relaxing and neutral. If you're not too confident with bold colours, but love subtleties, this one's for you.
As you can see from the mood board, sage pairs gorgeously with beige and cashmere-neutral tones, with pops of colour like deep browns and olive greens.
If you're a lover of classic natural walls, wooden accents, neutral bedding, with bits of personality dotted around, we recommend taking some inspo from this board.
Mocha
Perfectly paired with deep, luxe tones, the SnüzPod5 in Mocha can work its magic in any midcentury modern bedroom.
The mood board showcases the creamy mocha colour with plum, burnt orange, and cashmere colours to really set the vibe.
We love neutrals here at Snüz, but we have a special place in our hearts for those who aren't afraid to incorporate some colour into their lives.
Oh, and did we mention that Pantone's colour of the year happens to be a shade called Mocha Mousse? So, if you want to be bang on trend, this here is the SnüzPod for you.
Natural
If you're into bright and airy interiors with a slight nod to Scandi design principles, we recommend checking out the SnüzPod5 in Natural. Like, immediately.
We're obsessed with the choice of adult bed in this mood board, and it goes so well with the SnüzPod, too.
Not to mention the beautiful sagey green accents along with the exposed wood to match the bedside crib. Perfection.
Terracotta
If you've chosen the Terracotta SnüzPod5, or you're planning on it, we’re with you there. Its such a strong and bold choice, in reality, it is the moment.
As you can see from the mood board, terracotta pairs perfectly with colours of similar tones.
You've got your dusty pinks, rusty oranges, wooden accents, and, of course, a hint of blue—which looks gorgeous.
Overall, we love terracotta in bedroom interiors, and if you're looking to incorporate some more vivid colours, we suggest considering this one.
Graphite
Now, now, there's no need to be afraid of black furniture. It can look unbelievably chic in a bedroom, so…introducing, the Graphite SnüzPod5.
While black is incredibly versatile and suits any kind of interior, we love how modern and aesthetic it looks with natural woody accents and green walls.
You can still include all your fave neutrals, with the addition of a beautifully dark baby crib. Love.
Baby Room Paint Colours & Themes Ideas for Your Nursery
As parents, when your baby transitions to their own room, you'll want them to be in a nurturing, safe, and calming environment.
Aside from making sure your baby is safe and sound, a well-chosen colour palette or theme can help create the perfect atmosphere for rest and relaxation.
You can read more about this in our blog post about colour psychology, but essentially, you want to select a nursery colour that's peaceful, yet cheerful and welcoming.
This is the exciting part, designing your baby's nursery is one of the most looked-forward-to activities of soon-to-be parents, so have fun with it and get as much inspo as you can!
1. Soft Pink & Grey
A pale pink and grey nursery colour scheme creates a gentle, soothing baby room, while being super stylish.
It's important that the pink isn't too bright, as this could be too stimulating for a nursery. Instead, choose calming shades of pink, such as blush or mauve, and combine them with light greys like dove grey.
We love how this nursery by @claytoncorner perfectly captures the vibe with the dusty pink wall, dark grey chair, and light grey carpet. It’s subtle, but it works.
2. Neutral & Natural
A neutral and natural colour scheme is perfect for creating a calming space.
Earthy tones like beige, tan, and brown create a warm and inviting atmosphere, while organic shades bring an element of nature into the nursery.
Adding in some natural materials, such as linen, wood, or rattan, will add texture and depth to the room, honing in on the natural theme.
That's exactly what the parents in the pic above did. We love the natural colours paired with the wicker basket, wooden beaded bunting, and pampas grass touches.
A neutral nursery haven.
3. White & Grey
A white and grey nursery colour scheme is the perfect choice for a modern and minimalist room. It's simple, timeless, and easily adapted to suit any style.
Using shades of grey as the main focus with white accents helps create tranquillity—this is important for both you and baby. Choose calming mid-tones and combine them with white to create a bright and airy feel.
To avoid a clinical look, adding some texture with soft rugs, throws, or cushions is a great way to make the room feel cosier.
The room above by @58bungalow is one of our all-time faves because of its simplicity. The bedding selected is perfect, the stars add visual interest for the baby, and the chair adds comfort and warmth to the grey and white. No notes.
4. Pastel Greens & Blues
A pastel green and blue nursery colour scheme is another perfect way to create a calming, visually interesting environment for your baby.
The combination of these two colours creates a beautiful, serene atmosphere that will help your baby drift off into a peaceful sleep.
To keep things pure and soft, choose pale shades of greens and blues, such as turquoise and mint green.
Although the beautiful nursery space above by @_gemmalouisemiles focuses on muted green tones with various textures, we definitely think there's room for some pastel blue.
Some wall art, a rug, or even some soft furnishings, including blue, would work.
5. Sky Blue & White
Sky blue and white are a great combination for a baby's nursery. It will make the baby feel extremely calm, like they're floating in the sky.
Letting in natural light helps bring this colour scheme to life. So even if you wanted to opt for a darker blue, we think it would still work alongside natural light.
You can even turn this palette into a theme like @pinkelephant.uk.
Their nursery is packed with white and blue accents, with other colours like pink and green included to create a true under-the-sea theme.
We love the creativity of this one, and it's sure to stimulate a baby's mind.
6. Soft Neutrals
You can never go wrong with a soft, neutral colour scheme in a baby's room. This classic look creates such a homely vibe that you and baby can benefit from.
After all, you’ll be spending a lot of time in there, too.
Choose shades of beige, cream, and chocolate to create a warm and inviting cottage-like environment. Subtle white accents help open up the room and keep things light and airy, too.
@broadmeadowscottage is a great example of using soft, neutral tones to create a cosy space for their little one.
We especially love the individual bits of decor scattered around the space—they give a sense of personality and uniqueness.
7. Yellow & Green
If you want to add a bit of colour and brightness to your baby's nursery, yellow and green are a great combo! This cheerful palette will give the room a sunny, vibrant look, bringing happiness all around.
Choose bright shades of pale, bright yellow like lemon or canary and combine them with muted greens for an uplifting effect.
You could also use a deep green as the featured colour to add some depth and warmth.
The creator of this nursery has chosen dark green as the predominant colour, with small pops of yellow in the decor, and we're not mad about it.
It doesn't give off the sunny vibe that a yellow-heavy room would, but it does give an element of cosiness, and we love the animal theme, so we had to share.
8. Grey & Natural Wood
The combination of grey and natural wood is perfect for creating a sweet nursery for your baby. It's a timeless look.
This colour scheme is great for babies because it causes little to no stimulation, which helps them drift off into peaceful sleep.
That's why we're so obsessed with this space. The shells, coral, and other beachy shapes are perfectly displayed on the feature wall. While the wall is busy, the colours are not, making it an ideal choice in a grey nursery.
The natural wood from the SnüzKot pair really nicely with this theme, making it almost look like sand on the shore.
9. Navy & White
Navy and white is a classic combination that looks great in any nursery. Don't be afraid to go down the dark route, especially if you're incorporating white in there, too.
Most people avoid deep-toned nurseries because they think they look too dark, but they can actually make cosy, homely spaces for little ones, provided you bring the light.
Take the nursery by @no.18___ as an example. They've used navy blue throughout, but the room has remained light because of the lightly coloured decor and SnüzKot.
So, if you want to indulge in a cosy haven when creating your baby's nursery, take this as your sign that you can.
Finishing Touches: Creating the Perfect Space for Your Little One
Creating a nursery for your little one is such a rewarding task. You get complete control over every design and colour choice, and when you're done, you can step back and say, "Wow…I really did that".
So, take your time and create a space that you love. Whether that's light rooms, darker ones, themed, or minimalistic, whatever you choose, your little one will love it.
And don't forget to add in personal touches like wall art or photos, too! These are the keepsakes.
Enjoy the process, new mums and dads; we can't wait to see what you come up with!
